The Pearson Test of English – Academic is an English language test designed to assess the readiness of non-native English speakers to participate in a university-level English language instruction program. PTE is accepted for student and immigration applications across the world.

PTE ACADEMIC

PTE Academic is the first entirely computer-based English language test for international study and immigration that is accepted across the world. Powered by AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology, PTE Academic provides a fast and convenient testing solution without human bias. The test assesses the four skills of Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. It lasts approximately 3 hours and provides a score based on the GSE (Global Scale of English). PTE Academic scores are accepted by thousands of institutions and approved for UK, Australian and New Zealand student visa and immigration categories.

Any study abroad aspirant, with a minimum age of 16 years can take the PTE test. Candidates below the age of 18 years are supposed to take their parents’/guardian’s consent form signed.

Why PTE for Australia and New Zealand?

To complete a PTE Academic test, you will need to attend a secure Pearson test center. You will use a computer and a headset to listen to read and respond to questions. During the three-hour test session, there are three main parts to the test: Speaking and Writing (together), Listening and Reading.

There is also an optional 10-minute break between the reading and listening parts. During the test, you will find twenty different question formats, ranging from multiple choices through to essay wring and interpreting information.

PTE Academic assesses real-life, academic English, so you will hear excerpts from lectures and view graphs and charts. You will hear a range of accents in the test, from British and American to non-native speakers, so you will be exposed to the type of accents you will encounter in everyday life

WHY PTE FOR AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND?

PTE Academic English test is accepted by Australia’s Department of Home Affairs (DHA) and a Immigration New Zealand for all student and immigration visa applications. Most Australian skill assessment authorities and professional registration bodies accept PTE viz. Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC), Certified Practising Accountant Australia (CPA Australia), Chartered Accountant Australia and New Zealand, Australian Computer Society and Engineers Australia.

All technological Institutions & Universities in Australia and New Zealand accept the PTE.TAFE (Technical And Further Education) institutes and all Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics (ITPs) in New Zealand accept the PTE.

PTE ACADEMIC UKVI

PTE Academic UKVI is a Secure English Language Test (SELT) that is approved by the UK Home Office for all UK visas that require a 4 skill language test.

It is a fast, fair and convenient choice for anyone who wishes to work, study or come to live in the UK.

There is no difference between PTE Academic and PTE Academic UKVI in terms of test content and format. Instead, there are minor differences in the registration process to comply with UK Home Office requirements.

You should choose PTE Academic UKVI if: You are applying for a General student visa (Tier 4) and you are planning to study below degree level (e.g. a Foundation or Pathways course or professional English course) You wish to study a degree level or above somewhere that is not a Higher Education Institution (HEI)

You may take PTE Academic instead, if: You are applying for a General student visa (Tier 4) and are planning to study at a degree level or above. Please check with your Higher Education Institution (HEI) to confirm their specific English requirements.

You should choose PTE Academic UKVI if: you are applying for the following Work visas – Start-up Visa, Innovator Visa, General Work Visa ( tier 2), and Minister of Religion Visa ( tier 2).
